Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring

Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is done to evaluate how your blood pressure changes during your normal daily activities.

Your blood pressure will be monitored for up to 22 hours. A blood pressure cuff around your arm will measure your blood pressure every 30 minutes during the day and every 60 minutes at night while you sleep.

There is a $90 fee for this test. It is not covered by OHIP. This test is currently only performed at Credit Valley Hospital.

How to Prepare for Monitoring

  • Bring a list of all current medications to your appointment.
  • Wear comfortable loose clothing.
