OneTHP

Health care worker is caring for a patient on the hospital in-patient unit, and is inputting patient information in new electronic health record On October 10, 2020, Trillium Health Partners (THP) launched a new, modern digital health record that will improve patient care and help us fight COVID-19. The new system uses Epic, an industry leader in electronic health record software that has been implemented in hundreds of hospitals worldwide and several in Canada.

Why did THP go-live during the COVID-19 pandemic?

COVID-19 is expected to be a part of hospital operations for the foreseeable future and utilizing Epic ensures our care teams are in a much better position to respond to, manage, and provide safer patient care.

THP Pediatric Doctor, Dr. Jane Healey, shares why going live with Epic during COVID-19 was important and how it is has benefitted patient care so far.

What does this mean for patients & families?

  • The new digital health record system will improve the experience for our patients by ensuring that all of a patient’s health information is located in one place for the entire care team to easily access, making care safer and better.
  • Health care providers will have the ability to coordinate care with clinicians across hospital sites and outside of THP to reduce any gaps in care and avoid duplicating tests.
  • Care providers will have real-time access to information about patients to make important health care decisions.

What can I expect when the new digital health record goes live?

This is an exciting time for THP and we expect a period of transition as staff and physicians become used to the new system. You will receive the same high quality care from THP and we’re working to ensure the change is seamless to patients. It may just take a few extra minutes to enter your health information.
We are taking every precaution to keep patients and families safe during this time and as we continue to respond to COVID-19.

Thank you for your patience as we transition to a faster, safer and better way to collect your information and manage your health record.

If you have any questions or concerns, please talk with your care team or contact Patient Relations at 905-848-7164 or Patient.Relations@thp.ca.

Gender Identity Collection

With the launch of OneTHP, our teams are now support to collect gender self-identification data. This is a central piece of THP’s commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
