Trillium Health Partners Opens New Complex Continuing Care Space
The Moir Family makes a $1 Million Donation to the new space

January 26, 2017 (Mississauga, ON) – Today, Trillium Health Partners (THP) and Trillium Health Partners Foundation (THPF) celebrated the opening of the new Complex Continuing Care space at the Queensway Health Centre site.

This new area was designed by patients, families, volunteers, physicians and staff to create a specialized care centre that would enhance the experience of patients and their families.

Thanks to a $7.4 Million investment from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHTLC) and a generous $1 Million donation from the Moir family, THP has been able to redevelop and redesign complex continuing care.

Trillium Health Partners is grateful to William (‘Bill’) Moir and the entire Moir family for their meaningful support of transformative health care at our hospital. Bill and his family recognized an opportunity to contribute to complex continuing care when Mrs. Carol Moir, Bill’s wife, received care at our hospital. Following their experience they wanted to give back to help make a special space for long-term patients and their families.

Trillium Health Partners is pleased to recognize and honour Bill Moir and the Moir family by naming this space The Moir Family Centre for Complex Continuing Care

QUOTES:

“When we set out to redevelop complex continuing care, we had a clear vision for a new comforting, home-like environment that would provide the best quality patient-centred care.  Today, that vision is a reality thanks to our partnership with government and the generous donation from the Moir Family. We are pleased to honour the Moir Family by naming the space, The Moir Family Centre for Complex Continuing Care.  Thank you to the Moir Family and our community for the continued support as we build a new kind of health care for a healthier community.”
